Daniel Kowalsky received his Ph.D. in 2001 in Modern European History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. From 1996-1998, he held a Fulbright Fellowship for research in Spain. In 2001-2002 he was Visiting Assistant Professor in the History Department at Washington University in St. Louis. In Fall 2002, he joined the faculty of the American University in Cairo.
